Humanitarian emergency in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), let's act together to save lives!
PHM Global joins the campaign of the PHM country circle in the Democratic Republic of Congo to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis caused by the conflict in the east of the country (Goma). Health rights are violated and access to emergency humanitarian aid and health services is compounded by the influx of people displaced by the conflict, which has reached a critical point since last January.
The health system in the region is operating beyond its capacity and health workers, with the support of local organizations and the PHM in the country, are calling for a stop to the war. They demand respect for international humanitarian law, the fundamental right to health and ask for donations to enable the establishment and provision of a mobile clinic and community care.
Given the many local needs, an estimated budget of 80,000 EUR is required for healthcare. This PHM fundraising campaign will contribute to this goal and, depending on the success of the campaign, the project may be expanded.
This campaign began at the end of February and will run until June 30, 2025.
Your contribution will help save lives and bring relief to the victims of war. Click here to donate https://vivasalud.koalect.com/en-GB/p/soutenez-l-est-de-la-rd-congo/step-1.
What will the donations be used for?
- Ensuring access to healthcare for vulnerable populations affected by the conflict through a mobile clinic.
- Supply medicines, laboratory supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) to health centers that have received a large influx of wounded.
- Improve access to drinking water in the areas most affected by the conflict by installing a water tank (10,000 liters = 1,225 USD) and organizing regular distribution in the affected areas.
- Offering psychosocial support to victims of sexual violence and war trauma, including the provision of PEP kits = 50 USD per kit (A PEP kit is a set of HIV medications that can prevent HIV infection if taken within 72 hours of exposure to the virus. PEP stands for post-exposure prophylaxis).
- Nutritional assistance and prevention of malnutrition with the organization of cooking demonstrations for pregnant women and the distribution of enriched porridge to malnourished children.
